CPU ussage 3% only

Hi,

I have been using this hardware configuration

2x Xeon E5 - 2696 v4 (44 cores, 88 logical cpu)

128GB

512GB SSD

Nvididia GTX 1070

 

I bought the 3 months licence and the 2 days after bought, ony was capable to use 44 logical cpu, and video card no more than 10%; after 2 days, i’m doing a alligment and reconstruction and only is using the 3% of the CPU, no more than 3 o 4 logical cpu.

What could be happend? Software restriction???

Hi, 
The RealityCapture application uses state-of-the-art out-of-core algorithms for almost every task. And low usage of CPU is normal.

Hi Rafa,
could you explain this to me a bit more? Even a state of the art algorithmus needs to be calculated - where is that done then? Within the CPU or the GPU?
Our RAM runs about 95% during Alignment and CPU about 25% - does that mean we can speed up Alignment if we boost the RAM?

Resources used in each part of processing are: 

  • Alignment: CPU and RAM
  • Calculating model: CPU, GPU, RAM

How many images do you align in one project ? What are your alignment settings ?
