Hi,
I’ve been using the forum for many years, and this is something that I still find very annoying to this day. Whenever I open up a thread, logged in or not, when looking at posts, it’s hard to quickly determine the history of a thread in terms of contributions and dates. Currently, for some reasons, the date that is displayed next to a post makes it hard to determine if it is a recent post or a post from 6 years ago. I understand how it works, and that this format means that this example below (see example image 1) was posted in current 2023 year for example, and that if instead the post’s date was “Mar '15” (see example image 2) it would mean that it was posted in 2015 (note the < ’ > symbol next to the date), but it’s just annoying to not be able to simply glance at a thread without having to make sure that it’s written in this format to determine if it’s the year or the day of a month (especially on small screens - e.g mobile). Also, when making screenshot and sharing them, it’s not obvious for other people to know the actual date of a post.
The forums are the main source of information for most people that don’t have access to UDN, and making this small change could greatly improve the user experience imo.
Thank you!
