Could someone explain the difference between UE4 and Unity 5 free edition?

I am confused as to which software I should be learning as a first timer.

I want to get my games on Android and IOS also. So i can make as much money as I can because I know my game is going to suck since I am a one man team and have to do everything myself

So want to get it on as many platforms as possible to maximize whatever tiny amount of money I might be making.

I am thinking to just stick to Unreal Engine 4.

To be honest, games don’t just translate automatically to a new platform. There is a reason Call Of Duty isn’t the top seller on Android phones.

Ask yourself what kind of game you want to make. Which platform do you think suits it?

Just because you’re a one man team - Doesn’t mean you’ll make terrible games! Far from it; Especially in a community as dedicated to lending you a hand like this one! :>

^ Aah I see. I am from the Caribbean so there aren’t people or companies locally that develop games etc. Our economy down here just isn’t like that its more tourism and Oil & Natural gas. So I have been learning Blender 3D for a little while now aswell as Photoshop etc. But I have no idea how great everything would look you know, so didn’t want to get my hopes up too high.

Want to make a platformer shooting type game.

I would assume that its best I stick to UE4 right? especially since pretty much everything is free. I have not tried blueprints as yet, I am new to programming and have done C programming in school but those were like mathematics and physics problems like developing programs to do calculations.

Just start your game, even if you do not succeed the first time you will learn from your mistakes. The community will help you in all possible ways!

aah ok thanks I will do just that. Didn’t realize this was such a helpful community

They definitely are! Why do you think http://www.kitatus.co.uk exists? :stuck_out_tongue: - We all help each other!

Of course! I have some tutorials on my site (Which I linked in the post above) to get you started in Blueprints; When you see how easy it is to get your name made; You’ll be kicking yourself for even thinking of going elsewhere!

wow KitatusStudios is amazing. Lots of useful stuff there,

Anything to help :>
