Hello there!

That looks like a corrupted install, meaning a full reinstall might not be enough to completely clear everything. You will need to remove the associated registry entries. Please follow these steps to do so:

  • First, uninstall UEFN, the launcher, UE or any asset packs if you have them, etc

  • Next, open the registry directory, both at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Epic Games and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unreal Engine, then delete any entries tied to “UnrealEditorFortnite”

  • Finally, go to your local app data, and delete all folders from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite, %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealHeaderTool

  • After that, no Epic elements should be left in your system

  • Now, reinstall the launcher from scratch, then download UEFN

  • Once the process is complete, test opening a new island
