Correct smoothing groups for hardsurface meshes?

Hi, Great forum, Great Engine!

Could somebody help me or point me to a tutorial regarding applying proper smoothing groups and light maps to static meshes from maya or max to Unreal4? Maybe its the same of of workflow as in UDK? i seem to be having smoothing group errors or lightmap errors. my screenshot is below. any help much appriecated.

Looks like lightmap resolution to me. SG are actually the same compared to UDK.
