Is it ok to create a similar game or one that includes those classic games like the snake game or that one you have to uncover the cards and mach with similar ones (memory game?), these kind of classical games, and make money with it? I would add my own rules, use my own assets, names, etc.
Or do I have the chance of having legal issues?
Yes, you can use the same mechanics as other games, you just can’t use the same visual design
If the gameplay in question is considered generic, then you can copy whatever. What’s important is to be “legally distinct”. i.e. don’t make a win-screen say “winner winner, chicken dinner!”.
Phrases or words can be a copyright, so that would be the content, not the mechanics
