Convert Laser Scan point cloud to mesh

Hi,

How to convert laser scanned point cloud to mesh? My workflow as follow:

  1. Import Lidar data, then do normal mesh

2)Color/Texture the model

  1. Simplify the model

  2. Export to OBJ

Is it correct ? I found in the step 2 - color or texture the model makes the color dirty especially for indoor scenario.

What’s the best practice to convert point cloud to mesh?

Hi Johnathan,

if you are using only the laser scans, the textures will never be ideal. It is the general issue of laser scans.
