I need a bp function that converts cloth simulation to a procedural mesh at runtime, effectively creating a “snapshot” of the simulated mesh that I can then use with a mesh exporter to export an obj.
Performance isn’t an issue as it’ll be a “click and wait” event, so it can take time to convert.
I found this forum post that includes a solution for converting a skeletal mesh to procedural, but I don’t know C++ so I don’t know if it will work for cloth: Create procedural mesh from animated skeletal mesh? - UE4 AnswerHub
