Hello guys,
Recently, a thought has been bothering me about controversy in a game. We’re working on an adventure/detective game and in some parts, the story of the game is connected to religion (particularly Christianity, we have crucifix on the wall and a picture of Christ). Will this idea and usage of such models be offensive to players of other religions? Or should we simply remove crucifix and Christ pictures and change the overall story to please a greater community?
The only ones that could get offended are the usual snowflakes, but they usually don’t play games, they only criticize them. If they do, it’s free publicity for your game.
Thank you EvilCleric. Well I’ve never been bothered seeing any symbolism of religion in a game as long as it’s in a flow with the story. Thank you again for your opinion!
No, we’re not offending anyone. I was just thinking whether other religions seeing Christ picture or crucifix would have something against. And we must use it since it’s part of the story, it’s a partly horror game where there is christianity and satanic cults (like most horror movies).
