Control rig not deforming mesh on character


Using a default mannequin, and adding a control rig works fine.
But when trying to add a control rig to my own character, it doesn’t deform the mesh at all. With no tell as to why.

The skeletal mesh works fine, it has multiple animations so it isn’t an issue about weightpainting or similar

I was still on 5.0.0 early release. I updated, and it now works
