Control Rig Basic IK breaking skin weights from joint

Setting up a Basic IK and have the joints rotating correctly, but the skinned mesh is not following. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy going on but strangely, the skinned mesh doesn’t follow the joint’s rotataion, it seems that the verts associated with the Thigh and Knee joints move positionally, but not rotationally.

Bleh. I wasn’t understanding Primary and Secondary Axis.

For anyone else, Primary Axis is the direction the root joint faces, if your joint’s direction is negative Z than the coordinate is 0,0,-1

The Secondary axis is the Second Joint’s orientation to the Pole Vector. In my case, the Knee points Positive Y, so it is 0,1,0
