I know it has already been discussed, but I think there are a couple of steps that could improve the workflow and speed up things. After all control point phase is (in my case) the bottleneck.
I assume a first draft registrations has been done.
If I place a point in two images I would like to have the possibility to filter only the images that could have the same point shown.
If I place 3 points and do a draft registration I would like to be able to filter the images starting from a control point, even if it has not yet been pinned.
That would dramatically speed up things…
Thanks in advance,
Massimo
Hi Massimo,
Sorry, wrote this 5 days ago but forgot to send… duh
Are you talking about Ground Control Points with known coordinates?
Then there is a glitch that you can exploit - as soon as you add one Point in any GCP, the point appears in 3D.
Once the model is roughly geo-referenced (as you suggest in your workflow) they will be in the right spot in the sparse point cloud.
Another possibility is using the pivot point, you can activate it in the Image tab. You can locate it anywhere in 3D by double clicking on the point cloud. Also, it will then appear in the 2D images and you can spot your targets much easier.
Last but not least, you can select the Similarity filter in Scene under 2Ds view. That can sometimes help too.
thanks,
I’ll test the suggested workflow. Selecting the points is extremely time consuming.
On the other hand I really like the pixel error report and the way selection in the picture works.
Thanks again,
Massimo
