I never suggested it was magic. I just wanted to know the correct method of doing it. What I eventually figured out in the 3D view worked. I don’t know if it’s correct but it worked. I enabled control points clicked Crreate in the 1Ds panel. Then moved the mouse around the point cloud. When I could see a lot of photos connected to a spot I clicked to place it. Then over in the Control Points list the connected images would appear with green + box buttons next to them. I click all of the buttons, then repeat this process until I have 7 or 8 CPs for each component. I hit Align again and I can see on of the components now has more images in it. Repeat the whole process a few times and finally I have one component with almost all of the images.
