UPDATED PROGRESS AND REQUIREMENTS ON THE PROJECT FOR SAMS & MOUNTAIN JEWELS
We now have a working Unreal cave with Sam, a private website preview showing the live Unreal stream, and tested session connection, reconnection and camera reset. We have also inventoried the existing environment assets and built separate editable mountain and waterfall assemblies.
On the conversational side, we have tested recorded speech → transcription → Luna → Marin speech generation → browser playback. A fresh-answer browser test scheduled speech approximately 2.85 seconds after recording submission. Separately, our native facial-animation work reduced added startup to approximately 0.3–0.6 seconds in warm tests. These improvements still need to be integrated and verified together inside the streamed Unreal experience.
Our priority is now someone who can take hands-on ownership of:
-
Finishing the cave, exterior scenery and Sam’s visual presentation.
-
Integrating the improved conversation, voice and facial-animation components.
-
Polishing gaze, expressions, gestures and interactions.
-
Improving runtime performance, startup and reliable browser delivery.
-
Preparing for jewelry presentation and fitting.
We are considering an initial contract with the possibility of a permanent, full-time role for the right person.
Please let us know whether this updated scope fits your own skills and interests, your current availability and rate, and whether you would be interested in the longer-term opportunity. Please identify any parts you would need a specialist to support.
We would also welcome a walkthrough of relevant work you personally delivered and your proposal for a focused first milestone using our existing project.
Best,
Colin
Mountain Jewels
Mountain Jewels is hiring an Unreal Engine technical artist or small team to complete an existing interactive luxury jewelry showroom. Paid contract; please propose milestone pricing and availability.
We want one accountable partner for the whole package: realistic MetaHuman salesperson, live facial animation and lip sync, cave showroom, jewelry worn and demonstrated on the character, conversational integration, and reliable browser delivery.
Current stage and environment
- SAM, our MetaHuman salesperson, already exists with a rigged face, expression testing and cinematic assembly work.
- We have an Unreal Engine 5.7 cave showroom and a packaged Linux build, with water/waterfall views and lighting.
- Our wider platform includes Azure infrastructure, the Living Studio Manager and a Command Center/Workbench interface.
- Vagon browser delivery is in use; published SAM cave playback has previously been demonstrated.
- Conversation, product-catalog and integration code exists, but the complete live talking-and-jewelry demonstration has not yet been demonstrated end to end.
- A previous private working-preview playback issue needs reassessment.
The first milestone should assess what works, what can be reused, and what remains. Preserve existing assets, source and working releases.
Required experience
Conversational salesperson: SAM should listen and respond using approved product information, with dynamic speech lip sync, natural facial expressions, blinking, gaze, head movement and gestures. Listening, thinking, speaking and demonstrating should transition smoothly. Visitor interruptions must stop speech and animation together and return SAM to listening.
Jewelry on the character: The correct requested ring should appear fitted to SAM’s finger, or necklace around the neck. Jewelry must remain positioned during animation, with convincing scale, materials, reflections and contact shadows, and minimal clipping. Include natural presentation poses and camera close-ups. Explain your asset preparation and product-swapping approach.
Cave showroom: Refine the existing luxury cave environment, lighting, water/waterfall views, display areas and cameras. SAM should inhabit and interact naturally with the environment while presenting jewelry. Explain what you would retain, improve or replace.
Integration: Connect to our existing Living Studio Manager and backend through documented interfaces for voice, animation, gestures and product selection. The Manager remains responsible for orchestration. Identify specialists needed and who owns the complete delivery.
Linux and browser delivery
The deliverable must work in a packaged Linux runtime through the browser. An editor-only or Windows-only demonstration is insufficient. Specify exact Unreal Engine, operating-system, plugin and runtime compatibility. Any proposed engine, hosting or operating-system change must be explained and priced separately.
Initial paid demonstration milestone
- SAM responds to a visitor in the cave with synchronized voice and facial animation.
- A requested ring appears on the hand and is presented with a natural gesture and close-up.
- A requested necklace appears correctly around the neck.
- A visitor interruption stops the response cleanly and returns SAM to listening.
- The complete interaction runs in the packaged Linux build through the browser.
We will agree measurable latency, frame-rate, visual-quality and reliability targets before implementation.
Please include in your proposal
- Relevant MetaHuman, facial-animation, jewelry/product-visualization and Unreal environment examples, identifying your contribution.
- Evidence of shipped Linux builds and live conversational animation, rather than only recorded cinematics.
- Whether you can deliver the whole package, your team roles and external dependencies.
- Technical approach, plugins and licensing requirements.
- How you would assess and reuse the existing project.
- Milestones, timeframe, availability and itemized pricing, including recurring hosting, voice or AI costs.
- Assets, access and support you would need from us.
Handover: editable Unreal project/source, agreed character/environment/jewelry assets, integration code, reproducible Linux build and deployment instructions, dependency/license documentation, and a proposed support period.
Please reply here or message Mountain_Jewels with your portfolio and proposal.
