[CONTRACT] RPG Olympus 2249 - Proofread / Copy Editing

Dieselship Studio is looking for a freelance proofreader and copy-editor for Olympus 2249.

Compensation

We are open to offers within market rates. Our target is 2–4 US cents per word, with the final rate depending on your experience.

About the game

Olympus 2249 is an isometric post-apocalyptic cRPG set in a brutal dieselpunk world, where your Karmic Type shapes dialogue, quests and story. Fight turn-based battles using positioning, environmental hazards and stamina-powered abilities, or solve problems without firing a shot.

The work

The work covers proofreading and copy-editing of both the interface text and the dialogue. It requires getting familiar with the game’s world and glossary.

I translated the game myself, but I’m not a native speaker, and players have pointed out that some lines sound unnatural. Overall, the translation is currently of average quality: it lets players understand everything and complete the game, but some phrases are translated too literally, some idioms are missed, and so on.

The goal is to bring the text to a polished state that reads naturally to native English speakers.

Important: the use of AI tools is strictly prohibited for this task.

The current volume is roughly 70,000 words. It will be split into small thematic chunks, and each chunk will be paid for separately. If things go well, we’d be happy to offer you all future work of this kind on the project.
