[CONTRACT] Looking for VR Developers For Army Men Inspired Sandbox Battle Simulator

We are looking for a general developer for our VR game Plastic Battlegrounds which is a physics based sandbox battle simulator where you can make your imaginary childhood army men battles come to life by spawning toy soldiers, tanks, helicopters all of which are physically interactable by the player as they are either human sized or playing as a toy soldier yourself. As a toy soldier you can slide down zip lines, climb strings, pilot vehicles, use a variety of weapons like the M16, bazooka, M60, and tools like a grappling gun.

The majority of the MVP is done including a physics based player, helicopter, a variety of soldiers, but we need more content and UI elements before completing it for early access for the Meta Quest store.

About the Team (and how you fit in):

There are currently 3 programmers including myself, the lead developer. We are looking to speed up the development process and release the game in a couple weeks by taking on additional help. Others on the team include a level designer/musician, social media marketer, and a 3D modeler. We have worked together cohesively for years.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with our team to develop gameplay systems using Blueprints.
  • Working on features such as the main menu interface, wrist menu interface, helping to program a basic physics tank AI, solving bugs, creating environment hazards such as fireworks, etc.
  • Developing the game for VR platforms, with a focus on Oculus Quest 2/3.

Required Skills:

  • Experience programming in game development using Unreal Engine 4
  • Strong Blueprint development skills
  • Good communication skills in spoken/written English.
  • Honest and transparent in communication.
  • Consistent with meeting goals and responsive in messages.

Strongly Recommended:

  • VR headset, though not required, many systems such as AI can be tested on a normal monitor

  • C++ Working Knowledge
