Mercer Project is currently looking for a Visual Effects Artist who possesses a passion for creating stunning VFX. We are a small team working on an interactive Art experience in UE4 along side a physical Art museum in NYC exhibiting digital art, both projects under the direction of renowned artist, Roy Nachum. Help give existing environments extra life by creating a variety of visually stunning effects; anywhere from hyper realistic to abstract. In this role, you will work and collaborate with the whole team throughout the entire development pipeline while contributing directly to the project. You will be able to quickly adapt along the art process and re-iterate on pieces until they are finished.
Must provide an online portfolio website or demo reel to be considered for this position.
Requirements for this position:
- 3+ years experience working in game or film as a Visual Effects Artist
- Expert knowledge of UE4 particle features: Niagara / Cascade
- Proficient in 3D VFX softwares: (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Adobe After Effects, UE Niagara)
- Basic understanding of Animation fundamentals
- Basic 3D modeling (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender)
- Texturing (Substance Designer, Substance Painter, UE4 Material Editor)
Bonus secondary skills:
- Proficient in 2D graphics applications (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Scripting & programming (C++, Python, UE4 blueprints)
- Experience using Source Control
- Knowledge of rendering pipelines/content optimization
- Experience with mobile VFX
- Experience releasing at least one title
