Contours export - wrong orientation

Hi,

I have wooden relief 3D model based on 3D scan and photos. Imported pointcloud had unwanted orientation, so I’ve corrected it with “set ground plane” option. When I create contours on my orthoprojection, and export them as .dxf, orientation in AutoCAD is same as original orientation of pointcloud. How can I make RC to export contours with my orientation?

Hi ArchCro,
have you set Ground plane under Coordinate system in Export settings?

I don’t follow you :o

Can you please attach screenshot what are you meaning?

There is no “export coordinate system” in contours export dialogue (At least I don’t see it).

Hi,
I am sorry for my previous response, I misread it.
Was the original pointcloud computed in RealityCapture? Were you using handheld laser scan? Is your point cloud somehow georeferenced (also in local coordinate system)?

In the application settings, what do you have set here:

Hi,

everything is set as in your screenshot. Poincloud is registered in FARO Scene and imported in RC with locked registration as georeferenced in local (Euclidean) coordinate system…

Can you past there some print screens how does it look and what you want to achieve? I think this would be possible to solve just by using some GCPs with coordinates in your new coordinate system.
Like this owl statue, I placed CPs, changed them to GCPs and changed the coordinates (Y for Z, X for Y and Z for X). After alignment I got rotated model in new CS where contours respected new coordinate system:
