Continuing list of UI suggested improvements.

For context only, I have 25 years of rendering experience across a multitude of rendering and modeling software. The following was created to have a landing pad for suggestions as I run into them. I will cross off items that have been fixed or that someone has educated me as to a better approach or method for use.

  • User generated hotkeys
  • No hotkeys should be assigned to numbers as it is far too easy to miss the rotation handles and key in a hotkey instead
  • Hold shift to bind to 15 degree increments while rotating
  • Fix the longstanding bug of not being able to search ones own user library(May have something to do with file locking and cloud based libraries..regardless, parsing a library item name should be simple to implement regardless of file location.)
  • Add search tags as an assignable trait to user library items
  • Add user configurable Library Item Types for better filtering
  • Remove the Translate Tool and rename the Rotate Tool accordingly. I personally see no benefit to the Translate Tool.. Maybe someone else here does?
  • Allow Hotkeys for EVERYTHING. Of the many software platforms I currently use, this is the only one that I know of that has a GUI with no configurable hotkey support and doesn't provide hotkeys for known functions that have a GUI button.
  • Update folder organization to industry standards...please...outsource this if need be.
  • When geometry is selected, simply show the container, don't expand the entire container. This accounts for at least 1 hour of waster time per project to scroll through a container that has 1000 items just to minimize it again.
  • Automatically assign unique material names. When applying a saved material from the Library,TM generates unique materials but DOES NOT create unique material names, so that when a project file is updated through the import tab, all materials with the same assigned material name will now have the same material instead of the unique materials originally assigned.
  • The stitch line when using bicupic UV mapping needs improvement.
  • Do away with the gizmos distance input coordinate legs and instead give us a key modifier to press while click-dragging a symbol for dimensional input
  • Add a marquee selection and deselection tool
  • In conjunction with User Assigned Types, add a type-based restrictive selection and deselection tool.
  • Add a blocking tool, to join items together as a single block or contained selection. Shouldnt need to do this from the browser, much faster to do this on the fly in the viewport
  • Let us click on a tag to remove it, instead of needing to target the little x
  • Please add a second line with word wrapping to the Library Hierarchy and Library names, instead of truncating with "..."
  • Please change the UI to stop truncating the upper Menu Tools. There is absolutely zero functional benefit to truncating these tools.
  • Please auto save when a timeout/idle state kicks in
  • please add an option to ignore prompts of different types such as deleting library items for the current session

Some features, such as those relating to customizing hotkeys(See: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts) are under consideration or may be in progress otherwise. If you see a tab for a feature that is Under Consideration or In Progress, it can be helpful also to use this to provide feedback on it's importance to you, and you can then provide additional information on how you would like to see it implemented.
