Continuing frustrations with indoor renders

I really love twinmotion but since the very early days its suffered the same issues with indoor renders, this has ben exasperated by the path tracer.

Here is an image, on the right is the rendered image within Twinmotion with pathtracer. On the left is the outputted result after exporting.

Totally different.

The only fix is to add physical lights inside to each of the ceiling lamps. But those light have to be 4 lumens! Do you know what 4 lumens is? Its nothing, its not even a match stick. a 40watt lightbulb is 300 lumens. If I put these lights at 300 lumens then the output would basically be a white image. It makes no sense.

But I have to do this on each of the lights for the scene to then be bright for output, but then everything is washed out, no nice textures and shadows.

I can pump the sun to its max, it has no effect indoors. However this actual scene taken from a dining room I visited did not even have its lights on in the room and it was bright and airy thanks to the ceiling openings and windows.

It just seems like twinmotion falls over with indoor scenes in large rooms. Sure it works in tiny rooms I frequently see on youtube etc but for large rooms 20m long it just does not work. Having 20 lights at 4 lumens (a candle is 12) in order to overblow the scene is clearly not right?

This guy highlights the issues well, un-intentionally because its a tutorial. Look how stupidly over exposed things have to be to get path tracer to output a decent image, you can barely even work in the scene its so blown out. I don't do this, I just have to have loads of lights at tiny amounts of lumens that in the real world would probably not even be seen in a room this large but have to be on for the image not to seem like its night time at midday.

What is the solution here. Its not just this image, I work on tonnes and tonnes of them, same issue every time.

Really surprised this is just me, I guess there is something fundamental I am missing.
