Hey there,
I’m trying to make a custom asset plugin, using some metahuman characters.
When I add them to the Content Plugin, it all works. I can edit them in 5.7.4 and they save and load fine. I can see them in the Content Browser.
Now, if I reload the engine for whatever reason, the Metahuman characters then disappear from the Content Browser.
They ARE there in Windows folder land, but NOT in Unreal Engine.
Why is this, and how do I get them to load? I’ve tried all sorts of things, the only thing that makes them reappear, is to cut and paste them into another directory in the Windows OS, then they immediately show up in the Unreal Content Browser. ![]()
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I’m on a deadline for this project and it’s concerning me.
For additional clarity, I’ve even tried just adding a Metahuman Character to the root of the standard content location, and those disappear too when I reload the engine. Despite them being there in Windows Folders in the OS.
