Hello,
Yesterday, I’ve received an e-mail saying “Thank you for linking your Unreal Engine and GitHub accounts.”.
But I don’t have an Unreal Engine account and I didn’t link anything to a GitHub account.
I tried replying the e-mail, but got “address not found” error.
I tried contacting Epic Support through a contact form on the support site, but Support told me that Unreal Engine support is handled by a different team and told me visit Unreal-Engine-Support für Hilfe und Kundendienstangelegenheiten besuchen - Unreal Engine .
The closest option I could find was the https://forums.unrealengine.com/, but to post there I need an Epic Games account.
If I try to create an account with my e-mail, it returns an error “You already have an account, please sign in.”.
If I try to recover/reset the password it return an error “Sorry, your account is inactive and may not login.”.
I once had an Unreal account long ago (many many years ago, way before the Epic Games Store), but, back then, I requested the Support that it be removed, and it was removed at that time (many years ago).
If I try with a new account, with a different e-mail, to post on the Forum it either requires me to accept an EULA and install a launcher or link to GitHub (which is exactly what I’m trying to talk to support in the first place).
I tried contacting Epic Support again and they suggested asking here, to which I’m having to use a new account.
So now I’m lost, if the account with the e-mail is inactive and may not login, why did I get that e-mail saying “Thank you for linking your Unreal Engine and GitHub accounts”.
Just to clarify, I don’t use Unreal. I also don’t use the Epic Games Store.
Please, is there any way to contact support about this?
