hello is this any good for UE5 and VR, mainly architecture
GPU 3080 or should i go AMD xtx7900 (I am afraid UE5 doesnt support raytrace with this card, UE had problems in past with AMD)
CPU r9 7900x or went with Intel???
Noctua cooler
motherboard msix670p
ram corsaire 2x32
hdd 4tb for storage or is it better to use 2x2 TB and put in some mode
SSD 960 evo 500 GB m.2. do i need better I have this in desk 2 years waiting
PS 850W
some case I dont know something cheap
I am looking at pico4 or quest 3, what would you recommend for VR?
Thanks guys

My PC was pretty good a few years ago, and the worst part for me right now is the Graphics card that I am using. If you are afraid about the raytracing part, contact AMD and ask them about their plans. I recently had a meeting with them through work, and they are super friendly and helpful. The safe bet is to go for the Nvidia as it’s the market-leading developers.
AMD is cheeper and more efficient than Intel, so I suggest going with what your budget allows and what you are used to.
Make sure to have at least 1 TB of M.2 space if possible. Depending on the work you do, you will quickly run out of memory. I currently have 2 M.2 drives. One for Windows OS and Unreal Engine, on the other one I have my projects. It works really well for me.
Hopefully someone else can chime in about VR as my experience is lacking.
Thanks for your fast reply, yea I think your GPU is bottleneck, you should try at least RTX2000 series. I was looking rtx4000 series but price is way too much and when I saw problems with jacks for power supply that melt I was more for 3000 series. But this AMD is good as new 4000 series, so I would go with it and pay little more if I can use it full (raytraced). Where can I contact AMD team??? Every time when I tried to contact somebody in big corporation I hit wall for contact information and if I pass through then its pyramid hierarchy to go to somebody who you need?
Thanks for info on two m.2. ssd that is very helpfull!
100% agree that M.2 drives (NVMe SSDs) are absolutely critical to achieving the best development experience for Lyra.
I put the UE 5.1 Engine and my Lyra project on a 1 TB M.2 drive and about 1/3 to 1/2 of the drive is consumed in total. So a 1 TB M.2 is the absolute MINIMUM you should get, if you can afford it.
A 2 TB or 4 TB M.2 would be even better if you have the money. The performance gain from M.2 is night and day different from ordinary SSD or HDD. Once you see the performance of M.2 you will never be able to go back to an SSD or HDD.
so is my M.2 samsung evo 960 500Gb good ? Now buy second one ?
Any M.2 is good. If you can afford it, get one with the fastest read/write speeds you can find.
My Engine source/build is about 350 MB, and I don’t have very much optional stuff enabled at all.
Add in Epic’s sample projects and the total goes up to over 750 MB.
You probably want to get at least 1 TB of total M.2 space. If you can do 2 TB, that will future proof you for a while.
Obviously if you tend to work with a ton of huge art files above and beyond the engine defaults, you may need more space. I’m trying to estimate the minimum drive size you will need.
I am thinking to throw programs OS on 500GB and another one 1 TB to use for files that I am working on (so it will be free of OS). HDD 4TB use for storage finished things
