How do i stop unreal from modifying my video input layer. When i key it I want the video to be pixel for pixel accurate and am not concerned with any kind of 3d immersion where the colors of the background are changing the look of my video feed.
I have 2 screenshot that in an exaggerated way show that unreal is modifying my video and i dont know what setting will disable this. when i zoom in and the background goes out of focus it is dramatically blurring the edge of my keyed video. also the colors of the background are lighting up the top edge of the couch and changing how it looks.
well the forum is only letting me post 1 picture so i guess trust me when i say the other pic where i zoom out and the background is sharp and focused that the edge of the couch is sharp and cleanly keyed also.
In your documentation you talk about how you can do 3d or 2d and i think this may apply to our situation but then you don’t explain how to do it. we also have another scene where we had a water bottle on a table in our video and unreal was reflecting it on a shiny surface in the background. this is very cool and great when you want to do it, but we really want to know how to disable this as we are struggling with our key quality and want to avoid anything else that is affecting it.
Does this part apply?
3D vs. 2D Workflow
3D with Composite Meshes (Recommended)
A 3D workflow is enabled by using composite meshes on the plate layer. These meshes can act as holdout occluders in the main render, while the projected media contributes to indirect lighting and reflections onto virtual CG objects.
2D Only
Users may skip meshes, and composite scene capture layers in 2D over the main render. This can be useful for simple composite shots but plausible indirect lighting from the plate will be lost.
