Compiling savegame causes crash on next run

I have a save game which is just a big basket of variables. No code.

Everything runs fine, unless, I try compiling the savegame first. No changes, just hit the compile button, then run the game.

Bang, fatal execution error.

If I reload the project and carry on, no problem. Can run any level, as much as I want, but if I ever recompile the savegame, same thing on next run.

Does anyone possible know why this could be? What happens when you compile the savegame? What is different on the next run?
