It’s free to try :slight_smile:

With that spec, I’d try UE4, though.

Everything depends on graphics chip, if its intel embeded in cpu, it may be fine for coding and tiny simple levels. But forget big open world levels. However you can code whole game with small testing level only.

What is the actual GPU?

Find models that are in your price range, post links, and i am sure people pick what should be best for you.
Oh also what you are planing to do in unreal (in 0…10 range):

  • blueprint coding
  • C++ coding
  • level dessign
  • technical artist (like niagara effects, shaders, materials)
  • nanite and quixel
  • open world maps
  • huge games like open world rpg

6GB graphics… what graphics?

32 GB RAM will let you run the editor for smaller projects, but bigger proejcts with heavier assets will probably run out of oomph. Also, if that 6 GB graphics is “built in graphics” of any kind, you’re probably in for a low frame rate.

The i3 versus i5 question is not as important as the “what graphics card is it?” If it’s integrated graphics of any kind (Intel / Iris / Radeon) then it’s unlikely to be suitable for any real-size project.

Also, if this is a laptop, you’re going to want to add a mouse. It’s essentially impossible to be productive in Unreal Editor without a middle mouse button.
