More than ever it’s a great time to start learning Unreal Engine 5, I’m starting this series of videos to help jump-start people into the engine by making a game from scratch and walking you through all of the steps.
I’ve worked with Unity for 10 years before shifting to Unreal 5 years ago, the transition from one engine to the other wasn’t easy, but I hope this series can help smooth things over for you.
This series is geared towards people moving over from Unity3D and into Unreal, but if you’ve got no experience in game development you can still follow along. We’ll importassets, as well as some personal best practices I use in production-ready games.
Once the animations are textures are imported I move on to setting up the animation blueprints & blend spaces before moving on to setting up the first character, I’ll then introduce you to a small piece of C++ code we’ll use for the character base class, then set up some input bindings to help move the character around.
