Materials in a landscape are comprised of many elements. Wood, metal or paving materials are those that most commonly make up a landscape, but plants, soils, rocks, material assemblies and product components are also considered materials in the landscape.

  1. Open your preferred 3D modeling or rendering software that supports material creation.
  2. Start by creating a new material or opening an existing material that you want to modify for your landscape.
  3. Begin by selecting a base texture or image that represents the ground or terrain you want to create. This can be a photograph or a hand-painted texture.
