Community Tutorial: Static Mesh | Seperate Modeling | Rotating Movement | Unreal Engine 5.2

In this tutorial, we’ll extract part of a static mesh using the Modeling Tool in the Unreal Engine editor. I’ll also show you how to add new material slots and replace existing materials. I’ll also cover how to handle material scaling issues, using UVs and PolyGroups.

You’ll then learn how to rotate this static mesh using the Rotating Movement Actor component. To do this, we’ll create a blueprint and, as an additional function, add a selection of materials using Enum. Finally, a random selection is created.

All mesh changes are made using the editor’s internal Modeling Tool; Blender and Maya aren’t necessary!
