Community Tutorial: Rig Any Topological Model into Metahuman

This is a tutorial on using the Blender MetaBlRiger V2.0 plugin to convert any topology model into MetaHuman-compatible rigging. Currently, there are many 3D model resources available online, like Daz3D and CC4, which have strong community support, their own topology and textures, and come with matching clothing and accessory assets, ready to use out of the box. Some artists have also retopologized high-poly models into low-poly versions and created corresponding textures.

This tutorial aims to enable MetaHuman technology to work with custom topologies without requiring texture modifications, thereby breaking the topology limitations of MetaHuman. This approach allows artists’ works to benefit from MetaHuman’s body and facial animations, making their creations more expressive and enhancing the reusability of art assets.
