Part 1: VRoid to Unreal Engine Workflow :sparkles:
In this video, I’ll walk you through how to bring a VRoid Studio avatar into Unreal Engine 5.6 and get it moving with free animations.

Thank you, very useful topic. It is strange of course that it was only just touched upon. But very useful information for both an anime connoisseur and stylized graphics in general.
And I will be especially grateful if you have any information or know where I can read.
Under what conditions can Vroid avatars be used in Unreal. And is it acceptable to use them at least for demo in assets.

It usually requires the version of the VRM4U plugin that fits whatever version of Unreal Engine you’re working in. You can get it from GitHub. There are comprehensive tutorials on YouTube, but basically you simply copy the “plugins” folder into your project. You also need VRoid Studio (I have it on Steam, it’s free) to create the model. Once you export the VRM file, you can import the VRM directly into your UE5 project.

In 5.6 it takes less than 5 minutes. Generally, animations retarget without issue. All of the Third Person variants retarget with zero issues, although you may need to do some small level of work replugging the updated anim montages or skeleton slot names. I haven’t had good luck in the First Person templates because I’m not very good with custom IK Rigs yet. But the VRM skeletons are generally fairly close to the UE4 skeleton to my understanding.
