Community Tutorial: Custom Clothes for Metahumans (Blender 3.+, MarvelousDesigner, Ue5)

After encountering some problems with the creation of custom clothes, I saw in the UE Forums, that I am not the only one with these issues. This tutorial is a quick click-through on how to create custom clothes for Metahumans.


I am doing a metahuman uniform and I am having this nagging issue I can’t seem to figure it out.
In UE5 my mesh is getting distorted when the UE scalability settings: view distance is set to near.
The distortion happens when the character moves and fixes itself when the character stops.
Using the metahuman body mesh to copy the weights. When the view distance is set to Near, the body doesn’t get distorted, only my garment.
Nothign works, even forcing the metahuman to LOD0 or using my mesh in higher detail (without LODs)
Can you help?
