In this tutorial—Part 2 of the step-by-step series on dressing Metahumans for digital performance and cinematic content—we expand on the techniques introduced in Part 1, focusing on two complete garment simulation workflows in Unreal Engine 5.6. You’ll learn both the Chaos Cloth pipeline for real-time responsiveness, and the Alembic (Geometry Cache) pipeline for high-fidelity, frame-accurate results. This session covers fitting and optimizing garments, configuring Unreal’s Dataflow system, using the Metahuman Wardrobe asset setup, and exporting animated garments from Marvelous Designer. You’ll also gain the skills to choose the right pipeline based on your project’s needs.
Part 3 will cover advanced challenges: texture masking, troubleshooting, layered garments, and optimization strategies.
