Part 4 of a five-part series on Blueprint communication in Unreal Engine 5.
The first three parts all triggered communication manually. This tutorial makes it happen on its own: a Box Collision that fires when the player walks into a specific area, and talks to another Blueprint as a result.
We add and size a Box Collision component, hook up the Begin Overlap event, pull a usable reference out of the overlap itself, and use it to drive logic on another Blueprint. Getting the reference from the overlap is the part that trips people up, so that is where the detail goes.
By the end you will know how to add and set up a Box Collision, how to use Begin Overlap events, how to get a reference from an overlap, how to communicate with another Blueprint from it, and how to trigger Blueprint logic through collision.
This is the approach you want whenever communication should happen automatically based on player or Actor interaction rather than a manual call.
