Community Thoughts on Recent Roadmap Changes (Python & AI Features)

Are Other Users Concerned About the Roadmap Changes? I would like to ask the community and the development team about the recent removal and reclassification of key roadmap features: • Python Script (removed after being marked “In Progress”) • AI Images (Beta) moved to “Under Consideration” • Image Enhance removed entirely Many of us were genuinely looking forward to these features, especially Python scripting for automation and AI tools for faster iteration. These are not just “nice-to-have” additions — they directly impact professional workflows and competitiveness. I would appreciate hearing from other users: • Were you planning to use these features? • Do you consider them essential for Twinmotion’s evolution? And from the development team: • What is the updated timeline or strategic outlook?

Following up on this discussion.

I also raised a similar request in the Feedback & Requests section, but I believe this topic affects many users here as well.

Would really appreciate hearing other perspectives — especially from professionals using Twinmotion in production workflows.

Were you planning to use Python scripting or AI-based features like Image Enhance?

Do you consider these important for your workflow going forward?

(Surprised there isn’t more discussion around this, considering how impactful these features could be.)

I am also deeply concerned about the future of Twinmotion. There seems to be minimal support and responses to issues presented by users which makes me wonder if Twinmotion as we currently know it, will be cast off in the sunset. I asked Duckai Search Assist if Twinmotion 2026 was still going to be free and I got two different answers. One said it was still going to be free and had “ for now “ and another answer said it was going to be free for AEC Revit users and nothing else. Then I searched myself and could not find a specific answer about TM2026.

I have always applauded Epic for democratizing TM for the little guys to play on a level playing field but have been skeptical TM maintaining an equal playing field since Autodesk started working with the development team. Based on what I see from Autodesk they could care less about an equal playing field and more about enriching their profits.

I don’t trust the TM roadmap that much anymore because as you have noted items are dropped or ignored with no communication from support. Users submit issues and questions with little or no response from support.

I will continue to develop my skills in TM because I find the end products enjoyable to create I have invested so much time in it, however due to my very limited income as a retired senior citizen, if TM starts charging for subscriptions or introduces some type of paid rendering or video credit system, I will have to toss TM to the roadside like I had to do with Sketchup and instead become a Blender user and supporter.

Yeah, I share the concern. The randomness and drop of many ‘Under consideration’ features, the sudden surge of ‘export’ capabilities (as in ‘we let you move your projects away’), and fact that we are approaching April and still no news of TM2026 (more than six months since the last update), makes me think maybe they are considering to drop support of the software as we know it. There is even no discussion in this thread, no movement, although many new features announced are thrilling (substrate, megalights, particles, even ‘autosoft’), yeah, I perceive certain lack of interest. Time will say.

Everyone, let’s be patient. Twinmotion never disappoints with its updates, and every release in 2025 has been a major milestone. The software is getting closer and closer to perfection. It might just be a staffing shortage at the moment, so let’s show more patience and support for the tools we love. Since Twinmotion has almost no revenue stream, the fact that a free software continues to provide such frequent, high-quality updates is already incredible.
