Hi, I’m confused regarding commercial rights to models, I cant find mention of them in the terms, am I able to use the models here commercially with a personal or professional license?
Thanks for any help.
Yes both allow for commercial use. Just make sure your model doesn’t come from an IP theft since no staff are taking any measure so solve this.
The EULA currently used by FAB, only mentions Epic and the Marketplace by name. So if you run into an issue, FAB will push that to EPIC, who will not respond if it is not a Unreal Format Pack.
If you read the EULA it states that Epic assume full control and ownership of your asset when posted on the Marketplace, which no longer exists. I/We all host on FAB now, which does not have its own EULA.
I recently added our studios own EULA within our packs, but were refused approval until they were removed.
Strange that you are encouraged to type in your own EULA in the Editor, under Project Settings… Although not tried, I suspect this will also be refused approval.
With our packs hosting on FAB, we supply a forum link for Documentation and Support of our products. The very first post now included our own EULA, to at least protect our copyright and those that are included within our submissions.
My question posed to FAB (as yet unanswered), as our packs are hosted on FAB for more than a single Editor/Platform/Engine, and a purchaser breaks the terms of sale/EULA, will Epic police and deal with the offender, even if they are offending on another Engine other than Epic?
You maybe interested to know, that once someone has purchased a pack from FAB, irrespective of which license is used/issued, they are not subject to a single seat, but can distribute our packs to anyone that has an interest in any of the projects the purchaser is involved with, that includes any remote or distanced users, can also be issued with a copy, for a single sale.
This means a single sale can result in 100’s+ users using your pack in untold amount of projects, all within the Legal limitations of the EULA. There is no Single Seat limitations anymore.

There are other documents linked to this EULA, also with Epic references. Legally, you are in the ether as Epic no longer run MarketPlace as an outlet. I am still waiting on FAB’s ‘legal department’ to respond.
