Commenting node can crash editor

If your mouse happens to stray up to the ‘Alignment’ menu item after adding a comment then the editor will crash.

Repro:

  1. Open any blueprint (Class or Level)

  2. Add any node (e.g. Branch)

  3. Right click node and add comment “kill me now”

  4. Immediately after typing comment, move mouse cursor up to ‘Alignment’ menu item
    whilst the comment (edit) box still has focus.

CRASH!

This issue appears to be resolved in 4.11, could you please test it and let me know if you are still experiencing the crash in that version?

I don’t know if it’s appropriate to comment on here like this, but I can confirm that this issue is not resolved in 4.11.1 or 4.11.2.

Or at least, there’s still a crashing issue that can occur sometimes when adding a comment to a node. I’m not sure if the specific steps in the OP are required or not.

I apologize, I was able to reproduce this issue on another Answerhub post, and have entered a bug report (UE-29086). This issue is currently under investigation by our developers, but there is no timeline for when a fix will be released.
