Project Description:
Sofa ninja studios feat. The nobody collective is trying to bring to the world a new and cool take on the FPS RPG. Our game is a single player first person shooter with RPG elements; Elements like interesting gun combat, unique & original worlds to explore, a gripping story, and of course, a great hook. Combat will be at the core of our gameplay. Interesting weapons, smooth gun-play, and the help of a psychic sidekick. She will slow time, fling your enemies around like rag-dolls, and is fond of setting things ablaze. As the main character, you will weave these elements together as you play and produce a murder masterpiece of your own creation as you fight not only for your freedom, but for Evelyn’s’ too.

Features:**

  • Unique weapons that go beyond just bullets. The game is set in the future, so we will exploit this, and be creative.
  • HELL, WHO EVEN NEEDS WEAPONS! With Lain (the ultimate psychic weapon) by your side, Level up your skill tree, and you won’t need weapons. You’ll make those bad guys they’d stayed in bed.
  • The city of the future will take you places that you’ve never been before, toiling your way through its multitude of interesting locals. We will work in a colour wheel aesthetic to the levels, as you flee the city, the world the player will see, shall go from bright & beautiful, to downright glum & disgusting.
  • The enemies aren’t your average bad guys either. As you play through each separate local, the player will face new and distinct enemies and bosses. Each one visually, artistically tied to the location that you are in, so that the characters are telling you a story too.

**OPPORTUNITY SYNOPSIS:

We’re a newly started game studio from Cornwall, England. We are working on a demo for a first person shooter. The intention being that we will use kickstarter to fund the whole project, and we’d love for you to come join our team!

First up, and I say rather tentatively, but i want to be as transparent as I can up front. Initially it will be unpaid. Though, if everything goes well and we go on to make the whole game, it has the potential to be a paid full project. Wait, wait, wait, WAIT, Please! Let me preface this by saying; I know this is a lots of if’s and maybes… I know that animation and VFX’s are a completely different kettle of fish too what the rest of us guys are doing, as it is a job that requires a level of time and effort that goes into it animations is next level, and for you to take your time out to help us for a maybe? I see that this but we’re killing it. All of us in the team are really trying our hardest to make this a game a real thing.

It’s called serial link, it’s a satirical fps set in Utopian city run by a evil corporation. You play as a Mercenary working security for the the bad guys. You have a to free a girl who has been created with the intention of being a living weapon. The cornerstone of the gameplay is the delicate balance of gunplay and psychic powers, whilst also maintaining a strong focus on narrative. Think games like Bioshock and F.E.A.R…

We have a programmer, a Designer & writer, two artists, three 3D modelers, a musician, a sound designer, and three excellent voice actors . We do not have anyone with experience in visual effects and/or animation in UE4 though.

The VFX artist will need to have experience Using Unreal engine 4 (obviously). The main specialty we are looking for is someone with a knowledge of blood and gore, as they are super important to the aesthetic of the game. There’s 9 litres of blood (ish) in the human body, we want to show that on screen. The game features a lot of psychic powers too so these are another factor. We also need things like muzzle flashes, tacer effects, weapon effects, bullet impacts, smoke, steam, grenade effects, etc etc… As for the animator position: It’s about finding someone who realizes the importance of the small details, and not just the big ones. We’re trying to make something “realistically fantastical”, and it’ll be a hard balance to get. Variety is key!
