Combining Frameworks

Hi everyone, I hope this is the correct section to post.

I have been working with Narrative Pro Framework, which covers almost everything I need for my game. However, it’s missing an inspection/note system that I really need. I have also had trouble integrating other systems into Narrative, as some parts are buried within C++, which is a bit beyond my scope. For example, I have spent several months trying to figure out how to integrate another system to work with Narrative Pro. The Narrative Pro team have been helping, but so far the issue is unresolved.

So, I have started looking into using Inspection System Pro, along with Inventory System Pro, and Menu System Pro. These three systems combined do almost exactly what I need for the game I have planned, however they are missing a quest system.

So, I wondered if anyone else has much experience with these systems, and run into similar issues, and might have a suggestion or advice.

At the moment, I think my options are.
Stick with Inspection System Pro, but find a quest system that is easy to integrate with it.

Or, stick with Narrative Pro, but find a way to integrate Inspection System Pro with it.

Any advice and suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

story framework has inspection and quest/task system. Im not sure how robust and scalable it is though. Inspection might not be as robust as Moonville’s version yet but I think it is still being enhanced.

I dont think it’s fair to ask devs of Narrative Pro to help you with integration. They specifically say in one of their tutorials that this can be an onerous process, for the reasons you mentioned.
