I’m creating a replica of an industrial building I currently work in, in architecture mode. I was wondering when it comes to the walls and flooring does it help improve performance when they are merged into one piece? Also does it matter if I have a landscape or just one piece of large flooring tile? If this has already been asked, or if someone knows of a tutorial on basic level design that covers performance as well, please send me a link.
Merging meshes can help performance because it reduces draw calls, but will increase your project size (as you will have a bigger mesh to load). Another approach might be to use instancing, have a look at this talk for more info:
