Full noob status here. Basically brand new to UE and MRQ and I can’t for the life of me figure out what I’m doing wrong.
So I’m using this workflow from William Faucher(explained quickly below): Unreal to Davinci Resolve Workflow - ACES & sRGB
Quick rundown: I’m using the OCIO Aces 1.2 color space that I downloaded off Github as my color output inside of MRQ. Here’s what the color config settings look like in MRQ:
Everything seems to be translating to Resolve correctly from what I can tell compared to before when I wasn’t rendering with the color config enabled, but neither my cinecam or PPV will export with a LUT, or even show inside of my scene if I have the Aces output set as my display mode.
I’ve tried the PPV as both bound and unbound, and put the LUT on both the camera itself and the PPV as well as a ton of other variations.
OCIO enabled, LUT off:
OCIO enabled, LUT on (basically identical to above, potentially a little underexposed compared to .exr in Resolve):
OCIO disabled, LUT off(clearly better exposure, is manual exposure not working?):
OCIO disabled, LUT on(vastly different color scheme, LUT is showing through):
Again, I believe I have the right settings inside of Resolve so there doesn’t seem to be an issue there. The .exr looks basically identical to my scene with the LUT off in Unreal, but again, I’m rendering with it turned on. Here’s my Resolve settings and screenshot of the footage:
Project color space settings:
Aces input transform settings:
Footage screenshot, seems a little more exposed than Unreal w OCIO display enabled in the editor, but a little under-exposed than when OCIO display is off in the editor:
Could it possibly be something to do with HLODs and “Game Override” settings inside MRQ? Happy to share any other settings if they help. I’m not that worried about the LUT itself cuz I can do color in Resolve. I’m more concerned with what else might not be rendering that should be, like any type of lumen or path tracing settings. I’ve looked through the manual and googled endlessly for the last week with no luck. Again, this is happening on the camera itself and PPV regardless of whether the PPV is unbound/bound or what the blend weight is.
Really lost here, appreciate any help. Hopefully I explained that all okay! Please let me know if you need other screenshots of my settings. Thanks!
