Hello everyone, quick question: I have a few maps I plan on publishing early next year, and I am friends with a few comp players/content creators. I have a few who like my vision and ideas, so they would like to push my map via their twitch channel. I may have missed it while trying to find out how to add them to the map, as they are not helping make it, but only marketing it. How would I go about adding someone like this?emphasized text Or can someone post a link with the directions? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Not sure exactly why you need to add them in order for them to market it, but I’m assuming you mean you want them to have access before the map goes public. If so, I can help with that.
You need to create a team in Fortnite Creator Portal, transfer ownership of the project to it (scary wording, I know, don’t worry you won’t mess up your project, it still exists and is yours), then add them as a team member.
You can either add them as 1) a collaborator (or higher, but don’t know why you want them to have dev/management access. If for whatever reason you do, it’s in the same dropdown when selecting permissions so knock yourself out) or 2) as a playtester.
Collaborators can play private versions of your maps inside the team they are in, while playtesters can only play the version of the map that is set as the playtesting code (a bit confusing at first but more intuitive once you click around in your fortnite creator portal some).
Just make the playtesting code the version you want x person to play (and/or upload private version of the map if they have collaborator perms), and there you go. They have access before it goes public
Ahhh makes total. Sorry, the wording I used was a bit confusing. I have practice in UEFN but obviously not the team member portion. What I really meant is, that person has a big following so i would want them to benefit financially from marketing it. But they would not be “collaborating” in terms of helping me make the map. Didn’t know if there was an option I missed where I could add them add them for that and also if the profit split would be different (doesn’t really matter to me) since they are not helping make it. Apologies for late response, not super active here as I mostly go here when I need help with something.
I don’t believe there’s a way to split profits automatically as of now, one person has to handle the money. I could be wrong though, so don’t quote me on it but I’m pretty sure this is how it is.
