It would be great if RC would support coded markers distance scales.
Like this one :

if you have CLI there is an example to use these with openCV as part of a script.

but I’ll +1 to integrated into rc.

hello, for now you can download an external library, find AprilTags and import them as control points into RealityCapture

Lubenko, How do you import them as control point into Realitycapt? is it automatically or by the “manual” way of adding CP? It would be awesome and soooo usefull to have it automatically done…

could you give me some advice on how to get the april tag finder running?

I’m totally not able to do anything involving coding or compiling…

Oh and aure, I don’t know how to format the april tag finder output since I don’t even know how to run it (see previous post). :slight_smile:

But if the output file can be formated according to RC specs, it should be straightforward via Workflow - Import & Metadata - Control Points. The format is very simple, just image path/name, point name and two pixel numbers (not sure if horizontal or vertical comes first). It will be more tricky to use them as Ground Control Points, which is what I am aiming for, since I need to include coordinates from a different source for that…

Its a pain in the ■■■ that this isn’t supported inside the software package, it really limits a lot of potential from the software, especially when it comes to general user experience and workflow streamlining.

Also how awesome would automatic worldscale be!
