CO-ORDINATES

Hi

For my current survey workflow I am using RC to generate Ortho Photos of external elevations which I then clean up and import into autocad either just to print as colour orthophotos or to trace over to generate vector line based elevation drawings.

In terms of this workflow it would be very helpful if it were possible to obtain x,y,z co-ordinates for each 4 corners of the tiff ortho image which is exported out of RC.

Please can I ask if this is possible ? (Is the information contained in the tfw file ? and if so please can I ask how I access this data ?)

Please can I also ask whether there is any way of setting up the bounding box in RC which is used for generation of orthophotos by specifying specific x,y,z coordinates ?

Kind regards

do you have civil cad?

I haven’t tested this with rc.

but it should be outputting geo-tifs.

and with civil3d you can use the command “mapiinsert” and it will bring in geo-tif or jpgs, with the extra files, and it will bring them into the correct location, scale etc…

Dear Chris

Many thanks for your message.

I am afraid that the answer is no - I just run standard versions of AutoCAD.

Kind regards

Robbie

Hi Robert Ward-Booth

you can set its size + orientation with RECONSTRUCTION->INFO TOOL where you can use numeric input…

Hi

Many thanks for your post.

Looking at the Info panel under Ortho Projection Tool I am able to set the co-ordinates of the centre point of the bounding box and I can then adjust its size and rotation. However, I do not appear to be able to set specific x,y,z co-ordinates for the corners of the bounding box.

For my survey workflow this would be very helpful because it would allow me to generate elevations along specific accurately defined section lines so that the generated elevations will align with floor plans generated in other software.

Let me know if this is possible.

If it is not possible please could I ask you to consider including this functionality in later updates of the software package - it would provide a better workflow for architectural survey work.

Kind regards

Robert
