ClothPaint Tool brush makes mash disappear?

Hi guys:

I have been using UE4.17 and 4.16 for a few days and tested the ClothPaint tool.
Overall the 4.17 is much better, with PhysicsAsste re-assigning and more, it is a very cool tool.

One major problem has been slowing my work progress is whenever the brush stroke is down on the mesh,
it either disappears or flicks back to it’s original material.

Didn’t see it in the demo video, wonder if it is gonna be a fix until 4.18 or a video card issue.

Thanks a lot ;D

Hi,

I’ve taken a look at the clothing tool in 4.17 and I am not having the same issue. I also changed any of the parameters that are visible in the gif you posted to match mine. Do you also have this issue in 4.16 or 4.18, or think that it is possible there may be a setting that differs between our projects? If you have any more information on the steps that you are taking to get this result or can post a repro project, I can take another look at it.

-Thank you

Thanks Ridley
I have the same issue with 4.16 as well, haven’t had a chance to try 4.18 yet.
And the test mash I have showing on the gif, had no special steps I took.
It is a simple geo skined to a simple skeleton, and bring to UE, and once cloth painting start, it disappears.
and it happens to all the meshes I have worked on so far.

So I kind believe is could be a video card issue or
as you mentioned there, it may be a setting that it different, in that case I will not be able to know what it would be.

There is a demo done by someone else on Youtube, looks like he has the same problem.

Thank you

Hi,

Give it a try in 4.18 and see if it works in there. I’ve checked it in versions 4.16 and 4.18 as well as our bug reports, and I don’t see anything similar to this on record. If you set up a small project in which this is happening for you, you can post that or a dropbox link etc. here I can see if it works for me and let you know.

-Thank you

I have same problem in 5.3. Any solutions? I see that topic market as “Solved”, but I don’t see any solution here.
