I have a character with a simple cloth simulation on it. But for some reason when I move around the capsules in the physics asset, it doesn’t affect the cloth simulation at all (the purple is the cloth and the black is the body). And for some reason, when I move the capsules around, the applied cloth simulation resets, which I don’t think it’s supposed to do.
Chaos cloth is a different beast.
But, the capsules to offset the cloth are dedicated ones, not the regular capsules.
That may still be true in chaos.
Other issues could depend on cloth settings.
so you’re saying that there are seperate capsules specifically for offsetting the cloth? I don’t see anything like that, it looks like the only capsules are the ones that were generated with the rig.
Its possible they changed this, but I doubt it.
Create a new capsule and you should see through the options somethig that isnt a box or a sphere or a sphiel… thats the one that’s generally used for cloth - if its still there…
And it better be - it gives you the option to tighten just one side of the capsule so as to simulate stuff like legs which arent the same size all across.
If its not there, and the regular capsules didn’t have the option to do this moved onto them - then that’s an immidiate bug report + a community report with votes to get them to fix it…
It gives me the option to create something called a “tapered capsule”, which has a description saying it is used for cloth simulations. But placing tapered capsules in my physics asset still doesn’t seem to change the outcome.
What makes it even weirder is I imported a different character and tried applying a cloth simulation to its skeletal mesh, and the physics asset for the other character seems to be colliding with the cloth just fine. It’s so strange. I’ve removed and re-imported my current character several times, and still for some reason the physics asset just doesn’t seem to do anything.
