Cloth Simulation for outfit made of multiple sections?


I imported a skirt asset that is composed of different material sections: waist, length, border and hem. When I add cloth simulation to the all of the skirt sections (except the waist), the different section fall away from each other in the simulation and are not connected.

Can I connect the sections in UE4 or does cloth simulations only work on assets with a single material zone?


Only works with 1 material/section otherwise the different layers will overlap each other and ignore self collision (logical since each piece is its own self).

Bring into a DCC and make all the areas the same material. The mesh can be separate/you don’t need to merge vertices necessarily.
