My character has a duster. It looks GREAT using the clothing assets in shader 5 and stuff. When I move to the mobile preview I obviously have just a stiff block around the characters (should have read the documentation bit closer on mobile first)
Any way. So far only things I have seen for doing this on mobile are canned animations, or setting up a skeletal mesh.
I dont really understand about using the skeleton.
Are there any other ways? a better way?
Anyone have link to a how to on some of these options? Maybe that matches my goal rather specifically?
Yeah. I had presumed it would work okay until I moved to the mobile shaders. Then I had a nice tube wrapped around my character.
Did look into several things you can do. The two I found being regenerated animations and making a skeleton into the material.
Both were much more labor intensive than just painting an area I want to flap in the wind and trail behind a running character.
So far, no responses to alternates, or idea.
Have you filed a bug on the bug tracker ? Maybe it is a bug and since not whole a lot of people develop on mobile with cloth, bug was never filed. If it’s not a bug, Epic will reply to you and let you know either way.
I found several other post about it so it doesn’t seem like it is a bug. It’s just not supported I believe. I think the answer though not SPECIFICALLY said is in the list of mobile supported mesh. There isn’t a CLOTH MESH listed on there. booooo
But i’ll send a report and ask about implementing in future.
