Cloth Dynamics without using Physx?

I’m using Lightwave as my modelling tool and am setting up a cinematic in UE4.

I would like to know if it’s possible to have cloth dynamics without having to use 3DS Max or Maya via the Physx plugin (it’s only available for those apps).

Or is there a way I can set up a cloth animation in Lightwave and somehow import it into UE4? (I know FBX doesn’t support vertex based deformable meshes).

Any help would be appreciated.

I don’t know about not using PhysX, but you can download the Nvidia PhsyX APEX Clothing Tool to make simulated clothing.
It’s a standalone application, but it isn’t the most intuitive piece of software ever.
It takes a bit of searching to find the right place to download it and I think you have to register in the Nvidia developer program to get access to the download.
But it doesn’t require you to have 3dsMax or Maya, so maybe it’s something you’d be interested in.
