Unfortunately after testing I wasn’t able to reproduce this on my end with your project. I added a new landscape, switched modes, switched back, used sculpting tools, etc. and did not see any crashes. Do you have any specific steps I can try to reproduce this on my end?

Making a new project finally worked, no crashes anymore etc. The old project that started in 4.6 still crashes but that’s OK…

I’m happy to hear this is no longer occurring in your new project. Most likely the project file or landscape/map itself corrupted which would explain why the error was occurring. I will mark this as answered for now, if this occurs again, please comment so we can attempt to reproduce this on our end again.
